Insurance Program Eligibility

OPERATIONS:
Centers with counseling, food shelf, clothing distribution, classes, group events, etc. are acceptable for coverage. Counseling contemplates, among other things, the use of ultra sound equipment for sonograms (all trimesters), STD testing and treatment, pre-natal care and well-woman care. Coverage is provided to the Centers for acts of their employed or volunteer doctors or nurses unless such acts are excluded by the policy (i.e. prescribing drugs). The dispensing of drugs or medical, dental or surgical supplies or appliances are covered under this Program. The prescribing of such drugs, supplies or appliances are excluded.

Centers with overnight facilities, day care centers, clinics that perform invasive or surgical procedures, ob-gyn services or similar exposures are not eligible for coverage in the group policy.

PROPERTY:
  • Maximum limits
    • Building $1,000,000 per location.
    • Personal (Contents) Property $350,000 per location.
  • Building eligibility criteria
    • Maximum age 1960 – unless suitable updates to roof, wiring, plumbing & HVAC have been done
  • Insurance to Value
    • Coverage is provided on a replacement cost basis with no coinsurance penalties therefore we require reasonable assurance that buildings and contents are insured at their replacement value. Building values should rarely, if ever, be below $100 per square foot.
  • Windstorm Area Restrictions
    • Locations in areas prone to windstorm are not eligible for property coverage. Restricted areas are listed on the attached exhibit. Restriction areas may change from time to time.
PREVIOUS INSURANCE:
Insureds who have been cancelled or non-renewed are eligible only if cancellation or non-renewal were due to their carrier discontinuing this class of insurance.

LOSS EXPERIENCE:
Accounts are small and the typical insured should be loss free. Applicants with multiple losses are generally considered ineligible. Exceptions can be made when reasonable explanations are made offering credible evidence that corrective measures have been undertaken.
